FAQs



WHAT DOES EGG COST?
We charge 15% commission on orders that we submit to you. This rate will not change as long as you are with EGG. There are no other costs to you.


HOW WILL I RECEIVE ORDERS?
Orders and customer credit card info will be delivered to you electronically via a secure, PCI compliant, online portal called Brandwise Stream. You’ll have your own vendor portal on Stream from which you’ll be able to retrieve and print out your orders.


HOW DOES EGG GET PAID?
On the 15th of every month, EGG will email you a commission statement with a tally of all the orders transmitted to you in the previous month and an estimate* of your commission owed. You can send the commission to us via: Zelle, Venmo, check, or ACH transfer.
Commissions are due by the 25th.

*Occasionally a backorder or unexpected out of stock item on your end may change the final order + invoice amount – just let us know and we’ll adjust the commission statement.


DO I HAVE TO GIVE YOU MY EXISTING ACCOUNTS LIST?
It’s up to you. You may find it beneficial to share your account list so we can work on securing reorders for you and be proactive about protecting your existing customers.


WHAT IF AN ORDER FROM EGG CONFLICTS WITH AN EXISTING ACCOUNT?
Since you are the one that processes and ships any orders you receive from EGG, you always have the option to decline an order.
Just let us know if an order we send you is in conflict or overlaps with a nearby account and we will adjust or cancel the order and notify the buyer.


HOW IS EGG DIFFERENT FROM A SITE LIKE FAIRE?
We both have websites where retailers can shop and place orders. Basically, the similarity ends there.

Here are just a few key differences:

1. Faire is a large online marketplace. Egg is a sales rep agency.

2. Faire relies on ads and referral perks like Faire Direct, to build an account base. Fine Lines has grown our account base over decades: through our sales reps on the road, our permanent showrooms, and by working with buyers at one of our trade shows. We will market your line to Fine Lines accounts with whom we have established relationships.

3. Our business is relationship driven. We know there is no substitute for moving retail buyers to action than through solid, long-lasting relationships, advice they trust and experience they value. It’s a very different approach from the transactional experience on big marketplace sites like Faire or Amazon. It is the reason that average orders from rep agencies tend to be bigger and the reorders more consistent from rep groups vs. online marketplaces.

WHY AM I BEING INVITED TO JOIN EGG AND NOT THE OTHER DIVISIONS OF FINE LINES?
We believe a line like yours deserves a spotlight and attentive, personal representation; and we know our buyers are always in search of the new, the exceptional, the unique.

But as the wholesale rep agency model has evolved and consolidated to fewer and larger rep agencies, the cost to be represented by rep groups has increased.

Showroom fees, samples for multiple showroom displays and several dozen reps, printing hundreds of catalogs, attending trade shows, creating a new product release every 6 months …these costs can be overwhelming, if not prohibitive, for new, smaller volume or niche lines.

EGG is designed to serve the line and the buyer in a way that best connects them without placing a financial burden on the vendor while still providing the service, expertise and personal attention that our buyers expect from us.


DO I NEED TO AGREE TO ANY LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIVITY TO JOIN EGG?
We will not take on any line that is represented by another gift rep agency that serves the same geographic territory as Fine Lines.
Aside from that, there are no other exclusions.


DO I NEED TO PROVIDE SAMPLES?
Just a small selection that we’ll use to help sell your line.

We will keep an “EGG kit” for your line in our Los Angeles Showroom. Your EGG kit will have a selection of product samples that we’ll use during appointments with buyers and that we will ship to qualified buyers to review at their request. This kit will be maintained by us and EGG will cover all freight charges to and from retailers. You will choose what to include in your kit and refresh it as needed.


WHAT ABOUT RETURNS OR CLAIMS?
We will follow and respect your claims and/or return policy.


FINE LINES IS LOCATED IN THE WESTERN US - WILL I ONLY GET ORDERS FROM THAT PART OF THE COUNTRY?
Buyers from all over the country visit and shop our showrooms, tradeshows and website and we write significant business with retailers that are located outside of the states that are covered by our road reps. The majority of orders will come from West Coast retailers, but EGG will market and sell your line to all of our active accounts, in all parts of the country.
